Council adopts its conclusions on the interim evaluation of H2020 towards FP9

On 1 December 2017 the Council of the EU adopted its Conclusions on the Interim Evaluation of Horizon 2020 towards the Ninth Framework Programme (FP9).

The Council highlights that R&I is essential for ensuring long-term sustainable economic growth, industrial competitiveness, social inclusion and addressing major societal challenges. The Council calls on the Member States together with the private sector to strive to increase their investments in R&I. The Council sets out key principles in preparing the ninth Framework Programme, calling for a renewed ambition in innovation and emphasising the importance of supporting the whole innovation value chain, including high-risk disruptive technologies.
