Public Consultation: Building a European Data Economy

The European Commission has launched a public consultation and dialogue with stakeholders on these topics to gather further evidence. This process will help identify future policy or legislative measures that will unleash Europe's data economy. The consultation is open until 26 April 2017.
Building a European data economy is part of the Digital Single Market strategy. The initiative aims at fostering the best possible use of the potential of digital data to benefit the economy and society. It addresses the barriers that impede the free flow of data to achieve a European single market.
NESSI is responding from its perspective as the European Technology Platform for software, services and data, in order to give its input on how to ensure data flows across not only borders but also different sectors.
